I used to have a bad habit of picking up all the brass I saw on the range (except 22s of course) even for calibers I didn't have. I have way too much brass now so I finally broke the habit. Actually I just replaced the habit, now I go to the backstop and pick up all the used boolits. :castmine:

With the price of brass scrap these days, we've got guys elbowing each other out of the way to catch them before they hit the ground.

I still pick up any brass I see. If I can't use it, there's always someone who can, family, friends, or sell it on the internet. If it's not usable, it's worth picking up to sell for scrap. Bad habit? I don't think so. DALE

I pick up all the brass too. I trade it in at the scrap dealers for WW's. Usually get 1 for 2 swap. Scrap is scrap. Money is money.

I take it all

I have even SHOP Vac'ed 22's up

Not sure how much 1/2 of a 55 gallo barrel of brass weighs

But I know I will need the front end loader to up it in the truck

I go to the scrap yard at least 1 time a month
Normaly not with this much
But I had a few good weeks or scrounging

I pick up everything as well. I save all the center fire that is not damaged, all of the damaged and rim fire go to the scrap man, along with all of the copper jackets from my berm mining. I get $2 a lb for brass and $3 a lb for the copper. It keeps me in shooting supplies and helps pay some of the smaller bills if I work at it on the days I am able.

Best wishes from the Boer Ranch,

Joe

Picking up brass and spent boolits/bullets are both good past times; I do both.

Sort and salvage as much as I can.

John.

I pick up everything I can find for all the reasons listed. Try this site for trading.

Some of the guys here are also members there. I have had some great trades there.

We pick up the brass and the boolits from the range, we even have our kids trained to do it, and they do a pretty good job at it to. and we melt it as fast as we pick it up,

Haven't been to the range lately, but once saved all the brass I scrounged up. Almost filled a 55 gallon drum. Roughly 450 pounds worth. Guess I gotta get back in the game. Frank
