Is it true they are .462? And when might they be shipped? Looks great I just have to ask before I jump lol. :)

Boomer can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Lee specs call for +/- .001" on their specs. The two Group buy molds I have gotten so far have been to spec size and then maybe a half thousandth more. It varies from cavity to cavity.
The wait is about 6 months after the $ and order get to Lee.
Jump on in Jester, you might be sorry if you don't.

Boomer Mikey

From their specifications data sheet:

Boomer :Fire:

Boomer Mikey
08-15-2008, 01:00 PM
Our drawing specifies 0.462" size as cast.

Lee guarantees the size will be between -0.000" and +0.003" in diameter.

Lee is backed up to 9 months delivery time... this seems to vary greatly.

If you can't accept these limititations you shouldn't participate in group buys.

We’ve been out of town at the 2008 NRA Regional Silhouette Championships in Los Angeles.

It'll take me a few days to catch up on PM's and postings.

I got to bring home 3 first place trophies... not bad for an old guy shooting cast boolits.

Cowboy Lever Action Pistol Cartridge - A class -100 meters

Hunter's Pistol A class - 100 meters

Cast Bullet Rifle - Vintage Cartridge (38-55) - 200 meters

We had a great time and got to see cbrick, muggs, and a few more cast boolits members in person.

The 462420-GC RE-RUN molds are here. The sample mold I checked with my dial calipers looks like it's 0.463" - 0.464".

As cast diameter is 0.461" - 0.4615" with air cooled wheel weights and naked bullets weigh 408-409 grains. Surface finish is excellent and boolits fall from the mold with a gentle tap.

I hope to start shipping these on Monday, August 3rd.

I have a few extra molds... first come, first served... $75 each... delivered via USPS in the US and Canada.

Sorry for the delay,

I received 5 sets of group buy molds from LEE in the last week; however, this is my busiest time of the year at work. Each night, after a 10-12 hour work day I've spent a couple of hours packing and labeling molds. Your mold(s) will be in the mail on Friday.

The Mail clerk is going to have a heart attack when I show up with 6 boxes of molds to ship... probably 2-3 hours in the post office with a dozen sets of customs forms.
