Wife came through again. Maintenance supervisor at the hospital she works at told her he had some tin bars and wanted to know if i wanted them. He said hed take 50 bucks for it but didtnt know how much he had. i told her to write him a check. She brought home 66 lbs of it. I had it check at the lab at the local paper mill today and it tested 99 percent tin 1 percent antimony. Ive never seen this alloy before and have no clue what its used for.

Nice score Lloyd that will go good with that pure lead score you had a few weeks back.

tin is used to mix in with lead to make bullets

have no idea why this would have been at the hospital

Fantastic. Reminds me of the day I was talking to a metalurgist and he gave me a LARGE bearing carrying LOTS of tin based babbitt. The babbitt will likely see me out. Ah, happy days.
