Donald R.Burgett a American hero;gone home to his reward!

Mr Burgett lived in my small home town here in MI,fought in 5 WW2 campaigns ;dropped into Normandy the dawn before D Day; fought in the battle of the Bulge took the Eagles Nest,liberated 3 death camps was wounded twice ,wrote 4 bestsellers, after reading his first book I read he lived in Howell and I called him, we talked and he invited me over , I went! A fascinating man, simple and humble! When I worked in politics I'd see him from time to time,saw him lots at the American Legion post 141. Tomorrow we will hold a final roll call! Don was a Screaming Eagle through and through!
