Seen a dog like this, hanging out of a truck window while embracing a 2G right hand turn in the rain. He took it like a boss and his mom was pushing the laws of NASCAR.

I adjusted the remingtons stock to fit me a titch better today.
it went from wiff, wiff, wiff, straight to smoke, smoke, smoke with both barrels in like 2 minutes.
best part was I didn't tell Littlegirl I done it and she automatically started hitting targets with it better too.
I finally told her what I done after just absolutely smoking a ton of targets with a gun I previously couldn't hit a pattern board with.

My 18mo old grandson. I was dozing in the recliner and awoke to little hands patting me on the leg. He and his dad had quietly slipped in the house. GW

A short portion of my day, I was visiting a friend at his house. He had bought a BRAND NEW troybilt BIG RED Horse Tiller(the biggest one they make, it has a 11 HP motor)...anyway, he was tilling up a perfectly good yard. That made my day.

Little girl about 6 at the supermarket checkout:
Dad putting groceries on the belt: "why do we have 2 cans of Manwich sauce? We only needed one"
Daughter: "Because I REALLY like sloppy Joes"

My kids. Every day I walk through the door coming home from work, and am mobbed by four kids and their hugs for daddy before I can even take my boots off. Life is good.

Recently reread Old Yeller. Realized that Fred Gipson authored several other books which I requested from our local Library. Three of them came in Friday and I picked them up. Just finished Recollection Creek, still looking for The Trail Driving Rooster.

Since I started chemo they haven't been around much due to not wanting to expose me to school-age colds etc.

Not today, but yesterday, went to Cabela's and spotted some Federal large pistol primers. Needless to say, but four thousand of them jumped into my cart. They're almost impossible to find in my area.

I found out my old newspaper boss is still alive. I was 10 yrs old when he gave me a job delivering newspapers here in town. He is now 93 yrs old and i had thought of him a lot over the years. He and his wife live 40 miles from me in a nursing home. Another former paper carrier told me where he was. As soon as he gets over his cold, I'm going to go see him. He sounded Great. I was told he was a tail gunner in a bomber in WW2. Can't wait to see him. By the way, I'm 69, and we have a lot of catching up to do. I was able to talk to him today for a short time, it was great to hear his voice and know he's still alive.

I awoke this morning to the smell of coffee and Jimmy Dean.
The birds are singing and there is a bright sun in a calm and cloudless sky. Even arthritis is at bay.
If anything better could exist, on this side, I can't think of it.
Praise to God for the gifts he gives.

In the last month, everytime I fired up the alloy furnace to cast some boolits, I've chosen a mold to use, that gives me fits.

This morning, I heated the alloy furnace, started casting, and it was JOY JOY JOY !
The four cavity NOE mold rained boolits, til the furnace was empty.

Can easily relate. Some folks are S.O.B.'s.
Don't let the past hold you back though. Live your full life.
I know. sometimes easier said then done. Worthy goal though.

Today is the first day without rain for three days. Birds are flocking to the wife's feeder. Some at the feeder, some feeding on seeds knocked out of the feeder on the ground. One of the barn cats was stalking the birds on the ground. A couple of blue jays attacked him and ran him all the way across the yard and under a shed. One would dive and peck him while the other would circle around for another dive. They really kept him running! Had to grin.

My wife and I ate dinner out tonight. We got a booth by the window and our toddler got to see all his favorite things drive by. He saw a bunch of school buses and even a train. I don't know why his favorite things are school buses, but he loses it when he sees one, even though he sees them every day.

My side porch faces a busy city intersection, and the little ones all get excited at the sight of the huge loud yellow bus with all the flashing lights and a sign that waves to them. That will all change in a few years when the find out where it takes them.

Well, actually last few days. I can read the monitor without glasses, was coming back home a couple nites ago, wife driving, and I could read the street signs. Drove to McKinney to visit with some friends from Seattle. This morning it's getting the tile guys to replace ~ 400 sq. ft. of tile - to make her happy. Cracked slab & broken sewer pipe got fixed last year, roof replaced, sodded half the front yard after the bad drought last few years. Should have planted tap root trees instead of live oaks - they suck all the top water off. Won't be getting any new guns soon.

After an all night soaker. I open the garage door to get the kids to the bus stop and I get the smell of worms. Reminds me of when I was a kid going camping and fishing. It is the best smell ever.

Took the boy (can't call him that much longer, he's 14 and about 4 inches shorter than I am) out mushroom hunting yesterday. He was off school today home with mom and she said it was all he could talk about, all the stuff we saw. And we didn't even find one mushroom...
