Anyone have any experience with a 510 whisper subsonic and Heavy cast bullets?

I have a 1/8 twist Douglas 510 barrel that i have been getting 1/2 - 1 MOA accuracy out of jacketed bullets 750 amax's and various military from ball to API

I am very happy with the cartridge but would like to shoot it on the cheap and still maintain some wallup. I have read that the cartridge won't shoot anything over 600 grains of lead. I don't see why it wouldn't but that is the rumor and I haven't talked to anyone that has personal experience so I thought I would put the question out there.

I think NEI makes a 775gr #368 I think it is, or there abouts that looks pretty good but something even heavier would be cool too.

Any info or help would be appreciated

Thanks

I have been playing for a few years with slow cast boolits in 30 caliber ; a Brno Fox in 30 Carbine , a 357 magnum necked down to .30 on a Martini Cadet , and lately a 30-30 in a home built Chicopee Centrefire . All have 1 in 14 twists .
A 200 gn Lee cast boolit will stabilise and give acceptable accuracy at 1000 fps in each of the above rifles . By acceptable I mean about the inch at 50 yds.
I theorise that the lead boolit is heavy for its length , and stabilises in a twist that would prove impossible for a J word bullet of the same weight.

Jeff 900+gr sounds really great but I want to make sure it will stabilize and shoot before i buy one if it will then i am all for it

Heath

I have a 300 whisper that shoots well 1/8 twist with cast bullets 210 grains or so that I am very happy with but want to step up to cast in my 510

Thanks for the info

Now one of our members whose name escapes me right now but lives in Alaska has the CBE mould. Not sure how you will track him down.

What has he been shooting it out of and what kind of results has he gotten with it? If you can think of his name that would be great or maybe he will see this post

Thanks again for thinking about my dilema
