I am usually very critical of my as cast boolits, and if they are off center by a smidgen i toss them back. i saw a few posts in other threads about off center/out of round boolits as not being a very big deal, the sizer will round them out or the barrel will...does this negatively affect accuracy? Anyone done a look see what the difference might be? Just curious.

Personally... And this is just my opinion, inside of 20 yards, shooting at a 8" or 10" steel plate... Who cares, as long as it makes the steel "RING"?

Shooting NRA Bullseye Pistol at 50 yards... I checked EVERYTHING and only shot the best. Those that weren't exactly perfect, I shot 25 yard rapid fire, or for practice.

Did you notice any actual difference, if you ever used the "rounded" at 50 yards?
I agree with the ringing steel - this is what I do with my best friend every chance we get, and she doesn't shoot farther than about 25 yards.

For ringing steel, they are great. And, you will be surprised at how well they will do on paper. Now, if you are competing, you want every advantage...but, these bullets will shoot very well. I would not throw them back unless they were bad.

I have had them shave during sizing, and have lips "grow" down the side that shaves, which i then shave off for an even base. That's in between powder coatings.

if you are having that much trouble with out of round bullets then you might need to throw that mold out and get a quality one.

or lap it so it is round.

I've had poorly filled out bases, wrinkles, and other headaches, but don't even know how to make an out-of-round bullet.

There are no cast boolits perfectly round. Can't happen.

Out of round by how much though? 1 thou? 3 thou? What is considered out of round beyond correction through sizing?

shoot some and see - I never size boolits, always get shaved or mushed off center. I shoot from 100yds on out.

Got cocky, tried it with the P-09 at 50 standing.

They work. Nothing to write home about, but for 25 yards and in, no problem, I guess.
