just picked up 2 roll crimpers like yours, one is a 20 gauge and the other is a 16. traded a lady that owns an antique store some squash and eggs for them.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I was recently at a pre 1898 gun show and one gentlemen had roll crimp tools priced from $45 to $75. I did not see him sell any, it seems the going price in this area is closer to $25.

I got my roll crimper at an antique store years ago, when the lady couldn't explain how it was used. I offered her $2.00 and she sold it. Not long after I discovered the fun of loading black powder shell for my hammer shotguns......:)

Not long after I discovered the fun of loading black powder shell for my hammer shotguns......:)

We loaded many black powder loads on the lee for our exposed hammer double guns. Something to be said about shooting clays at the farm with an old side by side. I even took the loader to school for my freshman demonstration speech, the teacher request I use a filler instead of powder, so I used sand for powder and a spent primer.

A paper shot shell iron. It melted the wax in a paper shell and renewed the crimp.
