Gonna try 'em out

Finally got to cast up some of 475/480's .413-260-K group buy slugs. Looking good so far, just a tad rough, but Lee molds seem to smooth out over time with a few scrubbings and polishing compound applications.

Planning on trying them out tomorrow. Load is 8 grains Unique, WLP primer, 260-K sized to .412 [my alloy drops at 249 grains], 50/50 vaseline and Randy Rat beeswax lube.

Ruger BH 6 1/2" barrel, 25 yards. 12 for test. Wish me luck. Will report ASAP.

I have cast some of the 480 Keits from the groop buy I just have not found a sizing die yet. The pins came out of the mold at 100RDS but I tapped them back in. Can't waite to shoot them. J.Michael

Well, round one of the tests were rather dreary.

2 groups, sandbagged at 25 yards resulted in two groups about 4 1/2" diameter. Normal six o'clock hold on 3" orange dot.

Next trial will utilize the same powder, primer, etc., but will change lube. Results await.
