Anyone casting for this? I'm thinking of using a 270 mold, I should old have to swage it about .009 down to the right size. Thoughts?

I thing swaging that much is going to hurt your accuracy. I try to keep it to the minimum. Good Luck if you decide to try this!

Do a search on this forum for "6.5 Carcano" and "Jeff in NZ". He owns a 6.5 Carcano and has been shooting lead in his for a long time and has several times passed that knowledge into the forum here.

NOE offers some fat 6.5 molds, measuring from .268" to .270"

I use a NOE 268-149 RN boolit that drops at a hair over .269 and I run it through a lubesizer with a .270 die to apply the lube, for a custom Jap 38 rifle that slugs .2685

I use a Lee `Cruise Missile` bullet, cut down to 150gn and lubed with liquid Alox. I use it as cast at .2695 for my M91 Carcano.

The original 170gn bullet key holed, but the 150gn works well for me.
