Seems like a fairly standard j-word size, you would think there was an equivalent mold, or am I missing something?

I want one too. I would love to hear from Lee....
My workaround is using the .357 150gr. RN

I'll suggest that .38 mold and see what size bullet it drops for you. Sizing may or many not be required. I use the 9mm ~120 grain bullet in .38s with no sizing.
Tinkering with your alloy can alter the bullet diameter.

For now I've been using the lee 358 150gr rn mold waiting on mihec's group buy to finish up. They shoot well through my glocks and I get no leading with PC boolits. You do need to be careful as you need to seat them straight and have a good bit of flare to the case so they don't swage down or scrape. Also be wary of using a factory crimp die that full length sizes them as they will compress the boolit in the case. (it does for me anyways) just use a chamber checker on the finished round to make sure you don't have any bulges.

I haven't bought a Lee mould in a long time and have no idea what is currently available, but I was going to suggest a .38 Special round nose in approximately the 140- 150 gr. weight range. Another nose configuration may feed just as well. You should be able to size such a bullet to .358" for use in most 9mms.

The best (most accurate) bullet I've found for 9mm handguns has been the obsolete Lyman .38 Special 145-150 grain (ww alloy) round nose #358212 sized to .358" or .359" (don't have any handy to measure).

Lee decided nobody wants a 147gr. All the other mold makers go heavy, Lee goes light in 9mm, guess 124gr is as heavy as they get. But many 357 molds work fine. I use an NOE 158gr, w HP pins, comes out to 145gr, works in my 9mm and 357 sig.

But the Lee 6 cavity allow you to cast very fast with the design of that spru (spelling) plate.

They used to have a 1502R some time back for 9mm. I have it in a 6 cav and it shot great when I had my various 9's. I don't know why they discontinued it.

Good luck seating that to work in a 9mm...Barely any room for powder. You'll need to seat it so the three lower drive bands are in the case. the 105 gr version works ok if you can get them to feed. YMMV

Only 3 grains heavier... but does look like you would have to either seat it deep or throat the barrel.

You could get something from Accurate or try NOE

Lee has rarely been the leader in bullet mold designs. Still, 147gr are quite popular. I ended up with a 4cav Saeco for my 9mm stuff. Yes it was expensive but I had a 50% off cert I won at a match.:p Send Lee a request. If enough do, maybe they'll make one. Tom at Accurate makes a great mold but no true RN.

Lee has always sold inexpensive bullet molds. They believe that those who would conserve on cost would also conserve on lead.

What?
Other calibers have heavy bullets why only 9mm??
The would sell like crazy, and make money. I am sure Lee understands money.

I was thinking something along the lines of the 147 gr Lyman mold with a bit of meplat for hunting small game, especially out of a carbine.

I am not so sure. It took 25 years for them to put out a 35 cal rifle bullet. When I wrote them I got a reply that they were sure all 35 cal rifle shooters needs were met with the 166 cal swc they had at the time.

Pick up a five cavity NOE 358-155- TC ELCO. The bullet is designed specifically for the 9mm. Molds from the custom makers are worth the price of admission.

Mihei makes one I think the # is 356-147, it has a TC nose.

That mold drops a 153 grain boolit for me. Works great

I've got the mold also, and mind also drops a 153gr. bullet. I'm still having problems with 9mm but I think I'm finally getting pass all the knots. the bullet needs to be deep in the case(and no, there's not much room for powder(I'm using,at this time) clear shot about 2.8-3.1 gr's of it. and remember the case head spaces on the front of the case.(where there is a lead build up if the chamber shaves the side of the bullet).

One could always use the 158g 2R Round Nose for 38/357 and run a flycutter across it until you take off enough to get 147g weight.

I've shortened several molds over the years.

I have a MP 359-140 mold that casts a nice .359 size round nose @ 136 gr from my alloy. Shape is good for an autoloader.189508
I use it in 38 Special and never tried it in my 9's. I like the Lee 356120TC.

IMHO you should find another bullet this is a turd. Constant seating problems and dont even think about the devestator hollowpoint what a joke. Buy anything else.

Depends on the powder but I have run 160grLTC in my 9mm with no issues. OAL is 1.045", so a lot of bullet in the tiny case.

Saeco makes a great 147gr RN with a small cutting shoulder. Yes they are expensive, but none of the custom guys could make me a RN with cutting shoulder. I have a picky 1911/9 that really wants a RN as first round off the top of the mag.

I would stay away from 356637 especially if using the same load in different guns,it is a pain to load and stcks in every tight chambered gun i have. There are alot better choices out there.

I have an H & G #73 mold that is similar to the lee shown above. It throws a 145 grain bullet sized to .358. My brother in OKC has been experimenting
with that bullet in a 9mm. says he really likes it.
