I tried a few searches here on the rg version of this boolit, but didn't find much on it at all.

Has anyone done any range work with this one yet? I'm interested mainly in the flat point pins with this one as i think the .200 meplat will feed in my .308 mauser.

Anyway, i know the flat point version will shorten this boolit a bit as compared to the 311202 rn and just wondered how it was affecting the shooting characteristics of it.

Anyone actually shooting the rg version??

I have the 311-202-RN in an rg4 version. I have a few loaded up in .308 Win with the flat point, but my range has 2 feet of snow on it still, and I prolly won't get to test it out until late March or so. The boolit length from gas check to flat point tip is 1.090", if that helps.
I could also send you some of those as well as some cup points of the 311-202 if you'd like.--Shuz

Shuz,

Thanks for the length info and the offer of some boolits to try.

I filed the nose back on some rn 311299s i have and they were still feeding in my mauser with a .240 meplat. At .250 they hit the side of the chamber and wouldn't feed.
AL shows a meplat of .200 on the rg version, so i'm sure they'll feed just fine.

Couple that with the length of your fn you quoted, i think i'll go ahead and order a mould.
I just thought maybe someone had tested some of these for accuracy against the 311299 rn version.

Hope your snow melts soon and you can get some shooting in!

Is this a special? I don't see the RG version listed for that bullet mold.

It's just the rg version of the regular NOE 311202 (311299 clone).
Just scroll down the page on the NOE 311202 rn boolit and the rg version is at the bottom portion of the page.

35 shooter--by the way, the meplat on the 311202FN is .200"

I haven't tried the flat but worked up a couple of loads for a swiss 1911 long and the hp pins, 3 to 5 inch groups but wasn't shooting accuracy but fps.
I've also got mine shooting in my 300bo, had to modify the feed ramps though.

Awesome looking hollow point there.
What speed and alloy did the fired one expand at?

Haven't chronograph the 300bo, only worked up a load to cycle the action in a attempt to make it work in my ar. Which it did, only better in the 10 rd mag than the 30 for some reason. I think my load was 13grs of 300 mp which could be anywhere from 1100 to 1600. I've gotta odd 300bo barrel 16 inch 1in12 twist carbine port for shooting supers , so now I need to check them for accuracy. That one was shot at a can and I dug it out of sandy soil only at about 10 yds and it's a copper enriched coww.
