Having been too close to some similar experiences, I'm sure RRR is getting top level care. Greg, >RRR< may not have been aware of his illness! I know his family is concerned, probably more than RRR himself - at least, that was my situation. I was confident that I had the best team in the world (in Tucson? That was my outlook), so my family was worried more than I.
In any case - hang in RRR, do what the Md's tell you, do your rehab, and come back to the best site on the web.

(couple of funnies having to do with my surgery - as I was in my room the night before my angiogram, I was just lying on the bed kind of relaxed, just kinds looking up at the ceiling, and a tech walked in carrying something. He saw me and jumped. I REALLY believe he thought I had croaked over. I said 'I'm OK', and all went back to normal.
Then I was told my surgeon was Dr Ewy (pronounced A-V), and I thought "CRAP!" Thirty years ago I was a Research Assistant at the University Hospital, and there was a Dr. Ewy on staff, and I DID NOT WANT an octogenarian cutting on MY heart! Turned out my surgeon was the other's nephew...)

I'm praying for a speedy recovery for Rick and strength for all the Kalynuiks as they go through this. Like a lot of posters here, "been there; done that; got the T-shirt" with the cardiologist. Take his advice, but discuss not too drastic changes in life-style with him. Take your medicines conscientously and you'll be up to speed soon.

Remember "Getting old ain't for sissies!"

It's me, Rick, I'm back at home.

I'm feeling drained but that can be expected after all that's happened in the past week. I had the angiogram done on Thursday and during the procedure the Doctors were able to correct the problem (one partially blocked artery and the other partially collapsed) by installing titanium stents. The good news is that there is no damage to my heart (apparently, I do have one) probably due to the fact that I got my butt to the Hospital ASAP without delay.

The other good news is that my recovery time should be minimal, 4 -6 weeks, at which time I could probably start wrestling "Sasquatches" again, which will work out just fine because I'm going "Bou" hunting again at the end of August for 2 weeks.

I especially would like to thank you for your words of hope and encouragement, and for informing the brethren at the Cast Boolit site.
