finally got to cast using Ranch Dog mold

I got rained out doing yard work so I decided to give my Ranch Dog mold a try. Here's the results. I got 224 bullets out of a 3/4 full pot. Now it's time to size, lube and gas check. Can't wait to try them out. Will a soft lube work on these up to 1600-1800fps. My sizer is full of RCBS green lube and I don't feel like cleaning it out to use something different.

i,d use that lube you may get a bit more vel from it up to 2000 possibly
but 16-18 should do fine i am assuming ww's?

STOP right there!!!

Those bullets look a darn site bigger than 224. If they grew that big from using just 3/4 of a pot, maybe you need to drop below 1/2 or something. Why them things look like 30 caliber at least.

Besides, you are supposed to be getting ready for camp over there. What, 27 days now?

I came in from the store last week and put my glasses on. Almost went nuts, could not see a thing. Tried one eye then the other. It took a few minutes to discover a lens had fallen out and was in my glass case! :drinks:

Yea, soft lube will be fine as long as your bullets are hard enough for the pressure. Just realize those were made for some concotion of a tumble lube.

I know, I just got my RCBS Lube-a-Matic II set up and like using it much better than liquid alox. When I use alox I dip my finger in it and apply it to the bullet where it's needed so it's not all over the bullet. It take a lot of time but I have having alox over the entire bullet
