do you guys believe that the lee 312-155-2r cast in lyman#2, air cooled, will expand at around 1800-2000fps, in a hog,or upon impact with it

Fire one into a berm and then look at the bullet

well, yeah, but I see something in that photo that may have made a difference, lol and a dirt berm and a deer/hog chest are totally different, but I get the point, I need to just test and see. i'll do that when the ice storm passes, and i'll let y'all know. wet phonebook right? m'kay

Well, it's not exactly what you asked about.

The bullet was recovered from the dirt after passing through a ground hog. (He was DRT...not even a twitch.) Exit was about half dollar size, so expansion was initiated before exit. Retained weight was ~115 gr. IIRC and it expanded to right at 50 cal.

The alloy is ACWW. 7.62X39 @ 2150 fps. Consistent 2 moa. from my CZ527.

did you use a drill press to do those HP's? I would only do that if I had a die type guide made to keep it perfectly straight, but a hp mold would be so much better, that's why I wish noe would stock up on their 155 and 160gr harris style rnfp's. I want the 160 in a 3 cavity with hollow point option. it would only nees a very narrow hole, or even just the cup point would be better than nothing

I drilled those with a RCBS case trimmer. Slow and tedious, but how many do you really need?

Next time I'll make some kind of drill guide to help center it and do 50 or so....that should last me for several years.
