I have a aluminum round ball mold it has the number 541. No other identification is on the mold. I've been unable to find anything on it. Does anyone here have one tell me anything on the ball mold

A photo would really help, garbear. In its absence, sometimes the handle design, i.e., if it came with them and the sprue cutter/sprue plate, if one is present, can hint at who manufactured it.

that's a T/C roundball mould. I believe the numbers were just to match block halves together.

I concur with bubba.50 + it has T/C handles as well. Those molds deserve more credit than they get as they cast very well, certainly at least as well as a Lyman (iron) mold of the same caliber.

What bubba and Mavin said. They are anodized aluminum but they are a better grade of aluminum than Lee. The numbers id just to keep the matching hales together. I have several to include a 54 that is RB on top side and bottome is a full Wad cutter Maxi. Good moulds and Lyman handles fit fine.

that's a T/C roundball mould.

I agree with bubba.50 too.

I have a few T/C molds and agree with Maven as well....they cast well and are underrated.

I believe that Lyman made molds for TC so that would explain their quality and compatibility with the handles.

A .56cal. (.550") T/C RB mold is truly a rare one, garbear.

Early T/C aluminum moulds were made by Ohaus. I think Ohaus got bought out by RCBS but their product line disappeared

February 7, 2007 below are a list of facts on t/c mould blocks i hope they are found to be useful. 1. T/C DID NOT MAKE A 58 CAL MAXI HUNTER MOULD FOR SALE, BUT THEY DO SELL THE CAST BULLETS. 2. T/C MOULDS WERE MADE FOR A SHORT TIME THROUGH BY SHILOH, UNTIL BUSINESS PROBLEMS BETWEEN T/C AND SHILOH ERUPTED. 3. T/C ALSO HAD FOR A EXTREMELY SHORT PERIOD OHAUS PRODUCE MOULDS FOR THEM. 3. T/C WOULD PUT NEW LABELS OVER OLD ONES ON THE MOULD BOXES WHEN THEY NEEDED TO. SO SOME OF THE BOXES HAVE A LABEL UNDER, CAREFULLY REMOVING THE TOP LABEL SOMETIMES REVEALS RARE EARLY BOXES OR MISPRINTS. 4. T/C MOULD HANDLES ORIGINALLY HAD BRASS FINISHES, WHICH USUALLY WORE AWAY EASILY. NEW HANDLES WITH BRASS ARE RARE. 5. OLD SHILOH MOULDS AND HANDLES WILL INTERCHANGE WITH T/C MOULDS AND HANDLES.
