Possibly Moving to Roanoke, VA

Hi fellow casters. I am looking to move to Roanoke, VA from Virginia Beach and was wondering if any of you were from that area and can give me any tips or advice on the area, shooting ordnances, etc.

I am looking for a place to shoot in my back yard. Can't really do this where I am at now.

Gun Show in Roanoke this weekend !
Roanoke Rifle & Revolver has a decent facility, usually have a table at the shows . Salem is next door, also have frequent gun shows. Just make sure you live in the surrounding counties and you'll probably be OK.

I like Roanoke better than Virginia Beach. You may have to live on the north side of I-81/Rt 11

Was supposed to look at houses with agent this weekend, but have a blizzard warning...up to 15 inches of snow.

What do you guys think is the minimum acreage to shoot guns on property??

In the hills most of our back stop's were the side of a mountain. The worst snows in western Virginia come from the south. Across I-40 and up I-81. Don't how much land you would need?

anything far enough out so's ya don't hafta worry about complaints from the neighbors will be kinda wooly & thick. might see if you can find somethin' with some acreage that backs up to the national forests that are in the area.
