Searched extensively and found nothing. Anyone seen one of these before?
the only writing was an 82 or 28 scratched in the back of the molds

Belted ball mould. I used to have one about 45 years ago.

My use was experimental for a .45 cal muzzleloading rifle as a bare boolit that engraved at the belt but as far as I know the belted ball is intended for cap 'n ball revolvers. When seated the belt shears off sealing the chamber. They are same length as a ball but heavier due to the cylindrical base.

That mould should suit a .36 cal. cap 'n ball revolver.

I think Dixie Gun Works sold those as an import from Italy.

Bet you could powder coat those for a great little plinking or fireforming load for any of the 3/8" bore rifles out there.

Interesting design. I was not aware of them.

Thanks Longbow,
I thought it might be black powder but the shape threw me off.
Now I can see how that design would work.
