...............I miss my mind the most. walked out the door earlier today thinkin' about the bank bein' closed, the post office bein' closed, and my son who runs the Hiwassee post office havin' the day off. pondered these thoughts all the way to the end of the driveway.................to check the mail.

I tell ya, this gettin' old ain't all it's cracked up to be. :groner:

Yep, me too. But my mailbox is over 2 miles from me. At least the Polaris got a bit of a drive.

Hay, buddy I been there done that too. All those cute little sayings on TV like 'the best is yet to come' and all that baloney is just make you feel good and buy something. This is the time for me to lean more heavily on the Lord to get me thru each day.

The worst part of any holiday is the thought of my mailman sitting at his home not delivering my mail.

Hey folks,

Don't let Bubba pull your leg. The reason he goes to the mail box so often is because this is his mail person...

actually, believe it or not, the mail carrier I used to have really looked a lot like this. and it WAS a pleasure when she rolled into the driveway to unload a flatrate full of lead from the back of her car. looked as good from behind as she did from the front. [smilie=w:

but alas, she took another route a couple years ago that gave her Saturdays off. :(

I am a mailman with the day off today. Didn't exactly spend it sitting at home, but on the drive home I was thinking that I needed to check my mail today. It took a while to realize that the reason I had the day off was because there was no delivery. Like Bubba, I miss my mind the most!

What is just as bad, is looking for something that you have in your hand.

Funny how we don't miss it till it's already gone.
Wonder where they all went. Part of mine has been gone for a long time.

Hell, I checked it again about 9pm, because sometimes it does come late - when the regular guy is on vacation and a sub is running his route.

Its not all that bad until you're waiting for a stop sign to turn green. Then you got problems.

My mind has been slipping more and more lately. On the whole, I like it. Things don't bother me like they used to and I finally have a scapegoat for my idiocy.

Forgetting things isn't so bad, nothing you can do about it, so use it to your advantage.
For example.
Read a book and when you're finished with it start reading it again because will be all new to you.
When you're aggravated or just plain POed, just wait a few minutes and you're not remember what you were POed about.
Go to family reunions to meet new friends.
Your wife will notice you're not looking at young girls like you use to, because you forgot why you were looking at them in the first place.

The best one I have pulled was finding two handguns in my safe, in the bottom of a big bench job, in gun rugs. I had no idea where they came from or when I got them. That was like Christmas, except it has been 10 years and I still remember the shock of not knowing where they came from, all too well. Plus, I have never figured it out.

never found any guns I can't account for but, a few months back while lookin' for somethin' in my junk/important stuff closet I did find a 100 dollar bill in an envelope that I had/still have no memory of when or why I put it there.
