We had a rash of gun thefts in my area. Wonder if any of these guns are from my neighbors.

ANYBODY who knows fellow gun owners in the region who had a break in should be calling the sheriffs department for possible recovery. Odds are they will make no effort to return the guns to their rightful owner.

I read it in another article, there were also dirt bikes and four wheelers along with guns all thought to be stolen property.

The population of NE Indiana has been going down the tubes for awhile, as in folks not needed in the U.S.

Life's got to be tough in that area with the drug dealers having to stoop to be the fences too.

We had a bust like that here in Kenosha Co Wi. last year. Over 100 stolen guns were recovered, handguns, long guns, shot guns and lots and lots of cash. There too were stolen motorcycles and a car. As I recall about 30 people were arrested there.

HA! yes some of these people are looking at some real hard time. DRUGS+GUNS+ALTERED SHOTGUN = 30+years in the lock up.

Not in Ligonier any more, one son in Middlebury, one in Ft. Wayne, and a daughter in Indy. And with it being 72 out and sunny here I'm not missing the place at all :)

That was my first thought too. Dealer takes stolen guns in trade, probably giving pennies on the dollar in drug value. Yeah I would contact the local law enforcement about checking those confiscated guns against any stolen from you if you live in the area. Even if I lived pretty far away I would check and spread the word at local ranges or clubs. Stolen property can move fairly far, and in addition to getting stolen stuff back police can track the flow and connections for criminal enterprises.
