To be a Democrat:

1. You have to be against capital punishment,

but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression
and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans

are more of a threat than nuclear weapons
in the hands of Chinese and Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are more affected
by people driving SUV's (in the last 10 years), than by documented
cyclical changes in the earth's climate.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial
but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus
is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher

who can't teach fourth graders how to read
is qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature,
but loony activists who have never been out of the city, do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important
than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million
of his own money to make 'The Passion of the Christ' for financial gain.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad
because it supports certain parts of the Constitution,

but the ACLU is good
because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that ATM fees are too high,
but taxes are too low.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem

are more important to American history than

Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and A.G. Bell.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist,

but racial quotas are not.

16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton
is normal and a very nice person.

17. You have to believe that the only reason
socialism hasn't worked anywhere it has ever been tried

is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth

belong in jail, but a liar and sex offender belongs in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades
are constitutionally protected,

but manger scenes at Christmas are illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal funding of the Democratic Party
by the Chinese Government and Hamas is acceptable.

21. You have to believe that it's okay
to give Federal workers Christmas Day off,
but it's offensive to say 'Merry Christmas'.

22. You have to believe that Barack Obama never heard
His friend & Reverend of 20+ years rant on about how bad
America is, yet faithfully went to church.

23. That “big” oil and “big” drug companies are evil,
but “big” government is wonderful.

24. Giving I.D.’s to illegal immigrants is a good idea,
but I.D’s for voting is bad idea.

Ready to vote???

Drivel, absolute drivel!!!! Typical Republican Drivel, and Democrat drivel is just as bad. I refuse to let any group dictate to me what I should believe just so I can call myself one of those names or the other. Any honorable man would be ashamed to be called either. I will make up my own mind on all these "issues" and I tell you up front some of these allegations I agree with and some of them I don't and never will. I feel very sorry for anyone who buys into all this completely. End of rant, I won't respond to the subsequent name calling....

Aw relax. Everyone who takes a stand on many issues gets caught in the switches eventually. Freight train on the left, freight train on the right, and nowhere to run. Which is precisely the reason I apply the KISS principle so rigorously to Presidential and US Congressional politics. On the local level, not so much. When the only person running for an office is a Democrat, tough job or not, someone has to do it.

This is really off topic, and I don't even know which party this fellow claims affiliation with, but I think neither of them would claim him now. Local District Attorney has been in office for a long time, long before I got here but I think he is going to retire soon, whether he gets re-elected or not. Couple of weeks ago he rolled his car about 30 miles out of town, just into California. Said he dodged a jackrabbit and lost control, no witnesses. Apparently he was released, no injuries, no charges. He got another car, paper unclear on how. A few hours later he managed to lose control again and slam into another car on I15 outside of Barstow. This time CHP gave him the test and he blew a .10 and got free room and board for the night. He hasn't resigned yet but I'd say his political future is... make that 'isn't'.

If You all were Libertarians, non of these things would be an issue. The constitution is the Law and states have the right to make there own choices as long as it does not violate the constitution. Most of the issues would be dealt with on a state level and if you didn't like the way your state went you live with it or move. Simple concept.

Best wishes from The Boer Ranch and vote Barr in 08

To be a mainstream Republican you have to-

1. Believe that "conservatism" means spending just as much or more than the Dems.

2. Act like a Democrat.

I'm about done with accepting the label "Republican". I have no candidate to vote for for President, no faith in the party, don't recognize most of their standards anymore. Personally I'm stocking up on what I can and getting my house in order as far as I can. Hard times are coming, our rights are on the verge of being gone and no one gives a damn.

Politics is a lot like religion, its the money and power they're after.

If they get no money, then no politics, or man contrived power over you.

Man is a scoundrel who will cheat you if he can to make gain...he'll kill you, and yours, to get it.

That is the sad aspect of history of our world...only the Democrats don't believe it.

The Republicans are the robber barons who have no ethics. The Democrats have no conscious morals on what's right or wrong.

Power brings corruption in ANY system...

politics, education, religion, hell-fire and damnation- even in local shooting clubs
