was getting ready to load some 30-30 with a 140 spire. don't know the mold as of this post. but I had about 45 range pickups that I didn't check all but thought were RP all new and had the 2 boxes, he left
he was using an old win lever and I know the rifle could do way better than him.
to the point
he shot about 3 or 4 that didn't sound the same .
I got all the brass as its new.
went to reload some and 3 were berdan primers
have any of you run into 30-30 that way
I don't have head stamp in front of me but will post later

Imports? I have a LOT of .30-30s, and haven't seen a berdan primed case... but then, I've never been to Europe either...![smilie=1:

What is the headstamp? I've not seen Berdan primed 30-30s- I've not seen a Chupacabra either.... Best, Thomas.

Century Arms imported a bunch of ammo about 10 years ago that was all berdan primed. I can not remember the name of it right now. I think it might have been Igman or HotShot

Never seen a 30-30 Berdan primed either. But like James Bond said, never say never

I remember seeing some of the Igman or Ingman, or Ingam. something like that a while back but never got any of it.
a Berdan primed 30-30 case would mess up my day for sure I load a lot of it on my 550.

Thats why I check every case I use. I still find some of that South African 223 brass case's and they are berdan primes too. Found some LC 30 carbine the other day that was berdan primed. It was that Chinese knockoff ammo. Thats why I don't trust just the headstamp.
