That's perfect eating size right there.

I read "this is the only deer I have seen this season" and I thought wth? Where in the h3ll is this guy hunting? Then looked, NC? And you are someplace in NC that isn't overrun with deer? Everywhere I go in this state, especially at night, I keep my eyes on the shoulders and the ditches and the fields alongside the road. Done tagged one with my car and put it in the freezer, still driving the car could have been a LOT worse.

:groner:
I once shot a hole in the fake louvers that were on the 68 Dodge P/Us.
I was shooting at a ground squirrel & got down too low on the hood of my P/U.
The .222 Rem will punch a hole in the hood of a P/U!:target_smiley:

Dont give up yet a few more days of hunting in NC and It looks like the second rut is coming in now. I was watching what I thought was 4 does until one of the small ones look to be a yearling mounted one of the lager does lol. I was holding out for the old gray face nanny to show up but I have not seen any old does or even large does this year. But I seen around 27 different bucks from button bucks to small 8s nothing big enough to have mounted.

Yarrrrg our hunting season is over. However I may get called for a late depredation hunt, we can only shoot a Cow Elk, but boy they taste good & will keep us in meat for a year!!!
We'll see what happens.
