any opinions on the rossi rio grande 30 30 ? I'm in the market for a 30 30 ive owned Winchesters and marlins in the past and am familiar with both but have a preference for the marlin . ive been watching local classifieds and checking local shops for used . they all seem to be going for high300 to low 400 range and like I said that is used . i happened across the rio grand at a local Walmart for 397 new , i do onw a rossi r 92 in 357 mag and for the most part I'm happy with it but have never had any dealings with the rio grande , any input would be helpful .

Actually I think the used ones are probably worth that price if they look like they function well.

400$ does not buy much in the gun world.

The most complaints that I've heard is about the method of loading the shells like old .22 rifles, most prefer the loading gate on the side of the receiver.

Not a great deal of response here, may want to check the Rossi rifleman web site. Ranch Dog is there and I'm sure that you will get some great feed back. http://rossi-rifleman.com/
