I would like to size some bullets to .448", the basic reason is to uniform them after PCing.

NOE makes a Nose bushing that is .443"

The pictures show the nose bushing to be shorter than the Body bushing.

Would you think I could polish .005" out of that short bushing and size my softish alloy?

Does it matter that the bushing is shorter?

Do you have a better way to get to that oddball size?

I would just order a size die in that diameter.

The nose bushing has a sharp shoulder and about no lead in taper compared to the body bushing.
It is very hard to size down any significant amount with it.

Buffalo Arms makes 'custom' sizer dies and sometimes have them in stock, but more expensive than the bushing type.

BCBS and LYMAN make.446 dies stock. You can take one up pretty quick if your handy. I thin there was a thread on it here somewhere.

Thank you gentlemen, I have quite a few of the NOE body bushings and was just not thinking broadly enough. (maybe "thinking" at all may be more accurate) I now am reminded that Lee will make a sizer any dimension that I like and it looks like BA will do the same.

Thanks for the wakeup, Tim.

Thanks, Ascast, I was typing while you were posting. I will look there too.

would these bullets be for a 44-90/44-77?

Nope, not lucky enough for one of those exotic cartridges. It is for an 11.15x60R or 43 Mauser.

Good guess though.
