For those of you who are old timers here, you may recall a couple years ago when I was looking for help in deciding if I should support my wifes wish to take in 4 foster kids. Well, today at about 9:15AM the 2 youngest, Hailey aged 4 and Gordon aged 6, became our children legally. The adoption was the easy part, it was the lead up to it that was hard, figuring everything and getting it all straight in our heads.
Anyway, I just wanted to say top anyone considering foster care or adoption that you shouldn't hesitate. These kids have made my life fuller and it seems like we've had them forever. I thank God for this blessing.

What is life if you are not giving? KIds make life worth living most of the time. When they look up at you and say I love you daddy, all problems melt. When they hug your neck just because, you feel ten feet tall.
God has blessed you.I pray He keeps on blessing you and your family.

Bret,
4 and 6 are very nice ages... Enjoy!
You have given them a much better life than they would have had without your kindness.

I have 2 adopted children, ages 13 and 18. Both are of different race than me. I'm an old white guy, they both are mixed (white mothers, black fathers). I've had them both since birth, and they are, quite literally, my life. I also kept a boy from age 6 mos. til age 3, in Foster care, and then the State of NC, it it's grand wisdom, decided that his Crack addled mother was finally able to take care of him. She grabbed him, and moved to Texas. Current whereabouts unknown, and there isn't a day goes by that he doesn't cross my mind. It does cut both ways. If I was younger, I'd do it all again, but just know that there are winners and losers. The kids win, at least for a while, but it does open you up for some un-anesthetized open heart surgery.
