Here is a smelter I made after scoring about 1100 lbs of range scrap.

is it all a solid piece of something or did you use a filler in the middle of the walls?

insert is bottom half of a propane tank. its welded to the top and supported by coss braces underneath. Barrel contains most of the generated heat around the entire pot.

If you don't have some sort of additional heat source for your outlet pipe your lead will freeze in it every time you shut it off.

Great, how many pounds do you melt at a time?
Any problem cleaning the trash floating up??
