If there's anyone out there who owns a M77 in 30-06, could you please post the magazine box length? I'm wondering how it compares to my old M70 with its 3.4" magazine box.

Thanks,
MJ

Thanks runfiverun.

I decided to give the .350 a rest for awhile and work with RCBS 30-180-FN in my heavy ol' M70. If I like what I see, I may buy a M77 in '06.

I'll get back to the .350 after I cast some more SAECO 352's and maybe try some LBT blue. The fast twist .350 was shooting very good groups with HT'd 50/50 at over 2100 fps, but only for a few shots through a spankin' clean barrel before fouling kicked in. My conclusion for hitting the wall is either my homemade lube isn't cutting the mustard, or SAECO 352 just doesn't hold enough lube. I'll probably resurrect my thread on the .350 in a few weeks. If I can't realize my goals with SAECO 352, I'll probably cast a bunch of RCBS 35-200-FN's and try those in the .350. You know, there just isn't enough choice in molds (from the big 3) to cast mid to heavy weight .35 caliber bullets! I can see why cartridge cases that approximate the .35 Remington's volume are so popular with .35 caliber cast boolit fans. Between the .30's and the .45's (rifle) it's really slim pickin's (sans a few .375's) if one wants to use a ferrous mold from SAECO, RCBS or Lyman. Maybe that's a good reason to buy lever guns in all the straight-wall pistol cartridges. :-D

Thanks again,
MJ

i really like the pistol cartridge leverguns.
they are pretty easy to get to shoot, just follow the basics. good lube groove, long bearing area, make them fit, change the sights if you wanna shoot very far.
see easy.

I like the old tang safety M77s.
