Shot a deer w one and couldn't believe the blood that gushed out of the bullet holes. I walked the hill she was on and there was like clown spray up and down. She did run or attempt to for about 20 yards on her feet and off but I'd say one shot in the boiler shouldn't scare me next time...didn't know she was going to stop running but she woulda deff bled to death of she ran more

If it's as close to same metplat then I'd say either the same or greater.

I love this bullet so much if trade my rcbs gas checked 45-405 bc I don't need a gas check in this gun the way it shoots the way it kills. I'm in love. Going to start laddle casting it for even better bullets

Are you using the Lyman 457193 mould? While I've never hunted with it, I find it a very good design and it holds well to very long range without the heavy recoil of the heavier (over 405 grains) designs. I can shoot it all day at 1,300 fps with great results on targets without detaching my retinas.

Scharf, not sure if your question was directed at me but if it was this is the lyman mould I use that is NOT a gas check boolet, and I do love its performance. I was incorrect in listing the initial reply as it being a 405 in grain weight.
