Howdy, Booliteers

Just got an email from Starline announcing the availability of new 357 Max cases, for use with small rifle primers.

My order is in.

I have read somewhere that their first run of cases sold out right away. I don't know why they were so hesitant to make them in the first place. Did they figure they wouldn't sell? I guess a first run sell out should tell them something

I think in the end, they will corner the brass market.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought small rifle primers were the same size as small pistol primers??? Large rifle primers are taller than pistol, but I thought the small ones were supposed to be the same.

I understand that the small rifle primer has a thicker cup than a small pistol primer. 357 max is considered a high pressure round

^^^ What he said. ^^^

I often use SR Match primers with .357 mag pistol cases in a wildcat rifle... but that striker action smacks the primer pretty hard and of course supports the cartridge case better than a revolver would.
