..........I set everything else aside a couple days ago and decided to cast up some of the 6.5 Kurtz slugs from the Lee custom 6 banger run of several months back. I wanted to wring them out a bit and figured I'd use 4 different hardnesses just for fun. I have 3 batches of about 15 lbs each and just have the WW type hardness to cast yet.

Rather then achieving hardness via water dropping or oven treating I added more lino to the pot, otherwise the hardness increase wouldn't have affected the weight or diameter. I gues I'll use about 11 bhn for the WW type stuff.

First was a 14 BHN (14.36);

Weight: 132grs
Diameter: .2688"

Next was 17 BHN (16.92):

Weight: 129gr
Diameter: .2696"

Last was 21 BHN (21.47):

Weight: 126gr
Diameter: .2714"

From looking at this, I suspect the 11 bhn batch will come in right at .268" and about 134-135grs or so. That's getting up close to the original Jumptrap 142gr deal of 8 years ago or so. My, how time does fly :D

The 21 bhn slugs. One hour 15 minutes work with the Lee 6 cavity. The box is 2" deep, 6" wide and a foot long, but due to the ramp it's only full depth for 8". About 13-14 lbs of slugs.
