Anyone ever been to one of their 'invitation only' "after hours' events for Club Visa owners that supposedly offers all purchases at 'employee pricing?' Got the invitation for this weekend at the Boise store and thought I would go if it's worthwhile. But if it's just like 10% off I'll pass.

Their employee pricing is a joke. And if I remember right it's not applied to everything.

I don't know about their pricing.
but 10% wouldn't get them down to every where else's normal price.

in general i think its 7-10%. its a good time to use your points on bigger ticket items. a lot of items, its really not worth it, but if say you want a nightforce scope which costs the same everywhere, and is an expensive item, then the discount is worth it.

Cabelas branded items are up to 40%off. Most everything else is at least 10%. And no, I don't believe the prices are raised prior to the event. However if something is on sale, you get the cheaper of the sale price or the employee price.

I ended up with some $20 s&b primers with their "friends and family" discount last weekend. And a $130 Lee loadmaster from the bargain cave.

Go to it every year. If your expecting more than 10% off of firearms, stay home. There are some good deals on other items. Clothes is what you save the most on though. I never have a problem going in, looking around and leaving with nothing.

went once and it was so packed it was miserable, no carts and not enough employees, of course this was the first one they did and it was at their headquarters so maybe it has changed.

It's been a few years, but I've been to a couple of their holiday type after hours parties. Free food and such. Large crowd and long lines for food, and I wasn't impressed with the food. I don't recall what the employee pricing was?

YOU should of catered them JonB. I know they would have had some good vittles then. From the looks of your pics of vittles if I ever found out what bar you go to when they have a dish to pass get together I just might drive to the Land of 10,000 Lakes. [smilie=1::kidding:

I don't go to them. Kids give me gift cards & Cabelas is good for Veteran discount so I plan my purchases. LGS isn't much cheaper, they had lots of powder, etc. last week. Pricing was higher than last time. My supplies are close to 'lifetime' now so P.V. doesn't get much business.

Nice place to visit but paying the sales tax in Maine , we look and buy from the net with free shipping and no tax. Other items are overpriced. With luck Bass Pro will fix that.

Most markdowns the DW finds the closeouts online for the same item is 25% cheaper and no TAX.

Being from NH I cannot see paying tax to actually spend my money very repugnant.

Bass Pro is worse than Cabelas. They won't do anything but make it worse.
