Is there a cam that doesn't have a red flash at night?
The reason is the animals see the red flash and won't come back for a week or more.
I've not used a cam until a couple for years ago and my kill rate has gone down since.
Anyone know?

Does it flash red at night? Mine looks like a spot light. Want something that doesn't.

IR isn't really a red light it's a wave length,so the human eye can't see a IR
I don't know what you have but it sounds like someone has modified it before selling it?? Do you get it new? I've seen were some have modified theirs for shooting hogs at night,I had one that was changed to green LEDs for night hunting over a hog feeder.

Here's the one I have, says IR, but if you look at either side of the sensor, you'll see the diodes. Flashes very bright red.

Most of them are good cameras, yours should be flash free, using IR diodes, you shouldn't see any light when the camera flashes a picture,it may have a red led that lights when the cameras motion detector picks up movement,I don't like that feature on mine so I placed a small piece of tape over it. I try to keep my cameras out of sight, kinda acts as security that way too,but some show a single green led when the picture has been taken too.yours doesn't have that feature,or at least I don't remember it. What would you take for yours?

I'm not sure you'd want it.
Having problems with the sensor.

Just sounded like you've had all you care to from that unit,if it's showing light I can convert it for hog hunting, or just use it for spare parts!!!.

Actually deer don't see red good at all. They are closer to the ultra violet spectrum as are most animals that use the dark. It is why they don't see blaze orange.
I suspect something else changes their pattern.
Mine is IR but has a little red light that flashes, not bright at all.

The new ones we just bought are called "no glow". We set them up are around a problem area in a apartment complex and no one had seen them yet.

Biggest problem with a light is some creep that sees them and steals them. Bigfoot has ripped them down too!

Electrical tape over the little red light solves the problem.

Mine get stolen. I'm going to save up for a couple of those that have the GPS tracking built-in to them.

I do put a small piece of black electrical tape over the flashing red dot. The actual camera flash isn't visible to me.

I wish I could just use tape,, but mine is LOTS more than just 1 red dot. It almost blinded me when I went to get the hog at dust.
