They can be cut either way. But the .466 will size on better if you need to go a little bigger cause of your throats. Or if you shoot softer mixes. Many times when you hear guys say that hard bullets shoot better, they are really holding the check better after sizing.

when casting with wheel weight they come out at .503 and they should be seized at .501 or 502 on the average... but when I measure the gaz check shank they measure .463 so the hornady gaz check are near impossible to put on.... NEI say to me that there shank for the 500 sw are made for gator check...that has a i.d. of .466 so I when and toke a looke at the web site and they say theire gaz check for the 500 sw are .458 I. D. but if you looke below they have some label .512 rifle that have a I.D. of 466.... last night after reading a b it on the cast bullets site I took a 31/64 drill and with the non sharp end tap open the gaz check and now the gaz check fit on easy... but it long work so I guess I will have to wait for the group buy for gator gaz check. in a short sentence the NEI sherry to make the mould where made when
gator made only .466 id gaz check

true on that last night I punch the hornady gaz check with a tapered end of a 31/64 drill and now the fit easy and when I seized the .502 you see that the gaz check is very thight on and I eaven have a hard time taking them of with a pair of plier (experience just to see how hard they wher on)
