Here is my collection from over a month of buying pewter on Ebay.
Ended up with 17lbs of pewter ingots. The cost break down after the dust settled was $7.35 lbs for the pewter.

Warf, interesting! You did better than I did, I though I had a real STEAL on three "pewter" plates.. well, they are Wilton Armetal alloy, aluminium based, not tin! Be carefull of the Wilton items! I did get one very nice German pewter plate that shows the crests of each "state"; it is too darned nice to melt down! And other items I paid too much for the weight.

This should hold me for awhile, going to add 2.5~3lbs to 100lbs of WW for my rifle alloy. Even at 3lbs per 100lbs I'll get over 500lbs of alloy from this pewter.......hmm thats thats man over 7.5k rifle boolits ya that should hold me over for a year or 2 :)

Using pewter? I will guess (I don't assume anymore) that pewter is high in tin?

From what I get from my reserch pewter is a metal alloy, traditionally between 85 and 99 percent tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and antimony, acting as hardeners, with the addition of lead for the lower grades of pewter, which have a bluish tint.

I guess that could be a cheap source of tin then....thanks

At aprox 450 degrees, maybe a little higher depending on the copper content. It melted really easy when I melted it all down.
