Slugged barrel with a .227 cast bullet. Max diam = .2234

Ordering a Lee sizer: recommend size to .224 or .225? or will the difference even matter.

(thinking the sizers tend to be slightly under)

225.
for the 22-250 and swift rifles 226, they will take 227.
most AR's won't take over 226 well.

Comes down to what will chamber easy. Must be a pain to recover brass from the gun too.

I started at .225 with my AR and the results were not acceptable. (minute of berm at 100 yd.) Tried unsized and they were a lot better. (3") So I bored out the sizer to .227 and that worked. Go with the largest size you can chamber. I use mine for 3-gun and the biggest pain is that the brass that had all that work put in to it is lost.

I'm using .226 on two different brand new AR-15...both are DPMS, but one was made in MN, before The Freedom Group bought the company, the other one was made by Remington's big plant in AL where Bushmaster and other AR's are made. The AL gun has a tighter chamber, but stills cycles the .226 sized boolit from a HM˛ mold, just fine.

in 3 gun they don't give you time to get your brass back.
they want the next guy's up there shooting.
