Early doe opened today.

Too hot, never heard a shot and I stayed home. I don't think anyone is out. Might cool tomorrow and we will go. Might need ice.
I still need to put all together. I don't know what to wear.

I took the dog clippers to my hair last night. My head is kind of bare! :holysheep

I wear a red and black, or black and grey flannel with camo boots.
if I wear the red and black I wear black pants, and if I wear the black and grey I wear grey pants.
it simplifies things, and I get to wear a camo hat so everything works out well.

and my hair is fabulous in the morning by noon it usually needs a touch up.

We need orange but most of mine is cold weather. Found an old UAL vest in orange but might be HOT. Hats will sweat you to death.
I really like cold better.

It's not that hot. I wish I was home to hunt in this weather. I may not see any deer. But sitting in the stand when it's in the low/mid 80s is a lot more comfortable then the cold ;)

I'm thinking she is gonna have another story shortly.

I'm going to take her husband and his brother up into a couple of spots tomorrow.
I think her husband wants another crack at the buck he run off last year.

and I bet 44 man is gonna run his 44 mag with the 300gr lee again.
it's a winning combination and those are hard to put down and go to something else.

We had our first frost the other day and you can see that it has the deer more active. I got up at 4:00 to let the dog out and had three does right in the front yard 20 feet from the house.

Our archery season is in now and I have a three day weekend, but have to go out of town. Next weekend is gonna be different, I'll be on a stand all day both days unless I kill a buck first.

Using the BFR .475 first. But never seen a deer, not even on the roads. Don didn't see any either, maybe this afternoon.
Got warm again and I am glad I did not get a shot. I hate to worry about meat.

We had a crazy evening. Don seen a large buck. I got out of the stand when it started to rain to sit under an old building over hang but that didn't work, thing was only a foot wide. So I sat on a chair under bushes next to the wall. A fox crossed, then I heard noise to my left. Seen the biggest rabbit I ever seen. He sat up as tall as my little dog. I was watching and turned back to my front to see a 4 point 20' away and he seen me move. I didn't scare him and some birds distracted him. He walked away slowly and his body was huge, looked like a horse.
Driving the Polaris home, got almost to my yard and there were 3 huge bucks standing in the road.
Never seen a doe.

Find a buck in buck season! But we can shoot a doe too. Darn I wanted rabbit but my gun would leave nothing.

Got my first doe of the season today. Not a CB but my old Ruger '06 did the job just fine.
