Willye, please stop improving this website. It's been improved so much that half the time I can't get into it. Everytime you add another bell, whistle, or doodad, it gets slower or goes down completely. Good enough is good enough. :groner:

Actually it's nothing on my part. I have kept everything the same. The server has been having some serious issues that are being worked out. These issues are beyond my control.

Basically what happned:
A few days ago the server was acting up very bad, then later that day the circuit board fryed on the server. All the information was transfered to a "temporary" server that seems to be a bit less stable while the old server was repaired. As of right now I am trying to get the information put onto a different faster server. I appologize deeply for the downtime and delays, I know it's frustrating to everyone, myself included believe me.
When everything should be back to normal I will let you know.

No offense, but you haven't been a member long enough to know how much it's changed...it's horrible now.

Here's the problems I've been having, and discussing with Gunmaster privately. I've been having forum loading problems, either when first loading it or navigating within it. Take godawful long to load. That has improved some, but still have two annoying problems...one is after the page as loaded the hourglass cursor shows something is still loading even though the page is completes. I've been clicking the stop button to stop that. The most annoying one is when I reply to either a post or pm I have to wait ONE MINUTE for the page to let me type on it. What I mean is the message window comes up right fast, but it's greyed out and I don't get that "bar" cursor prompt to start typing for one minute...very very very frustrating.

Now I've been following along with Gunmaster and understand about the board frying and all, but how can the forum be working, but yet my message windows be so gawddamn slow?

Who else is noticing anything besides Scrounger?

Joe

Running smooth and steady on comcast.net and Firefox browser. The only problem I had was when the server died and the board was unavailable. That didn't last very long.

It's running ok here and I'm using an old PII 300mhz IBM with 192mby RAM on a DSL connection.

Works okay, but I have some w-a-i-t-i-n-g issues or something. Waiting for the cursor in gray message window sounds familiar, but not in a minute basis, all buttons and post icons comes up slowly and the cursor is the last one. Usually these don't bother me, I browse couple of places so another is active when other is loading. One compatibility or something like that issue with Firefox; with IE (at work) I can right click and paste when composing a post, but with Firefox it's not possible, need to use ctrl+V to paste. Don't know why, but right clicking in the message area shows standard list of commands, not the cut-copy-paste-etc-commands as it should. Cut-copy-paste shows up when right clicking in the title-field. Very good over all. Thanks for the service.

I had a couple of 404 error messages yesterday. Left it alone and went elsewhere for a very few minutes. Returned and everything is back to hunky dorie!

No real issues and I'm running "Slimbrowser" compliments of my son, as opposed to IE.

Been fine for me and my 56K modem and IE. Just problems the day the server went south. Hasn't been slow. Appreciate the updates.
