Hi guys, please don't ridicule me I am trying to learn. Are bullets with tapered (reduced) bands intended only for breech seating?

I am toying with the concept of a 338 caliber money style bullet, like this:

Thanks

In answer to your question, no.

Are bullets with tapered (reduced) bands intended only for breech seating? No, they can be used for breech & fix cartridge reloads. When used for fixed, the crimping is a finicky step due to the tapered bands

nope all of the loverign designs are tapered.
they were deliberately tapered to fit out in to the cone shaped throats of worn military rifles.
but work well for me in other throat shapes also as long as you seat the nose out as close to touching steel as possible.
