My wife is a Jeep lover and her 95 Wrangler is her baby. Despite my intial reluctance at buying it, it's turned out to be a great little 2nd car. I had to buy a junker to get a hardtop and hardtop doors, but that also gave me another field truck- if I ever get it fixed.

Have fun with it!

Lloyd...

Warning, Jeeps can be extremely habit-forming and, if you're not careful you could easily develop another recreational addiction.

Wife and I have a '97 Wrangler for our "recreational vehicle." Use it mostly for weekend camping trips and vacations (when we can get sufficient "free time" at the same time). Built my own canoe carrier and a suspended cargo rack that fits inside the roll cage behind the front seats. Fully loaded, we can carry the canoe, our mountain bikes, all our basecamp gear and a week's supplies...and still get 16-18 mpg, depending upon terrain.

You'll know you're getting hooked when you acquire your first "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand." bumper sticker, t-shirt, ball cap, or whatever . (We've got the license plate frame.)

I sold a 52 Willys with a 283 Chevy engine that would climb anything I dared. It had blown 2nd gear in the tranny or the thrust washers and you had to hold it in place when you were not accelerating. The brakes were scary and a maybe in a panic stop. My wife was really happy when I sold it. I'll have another one someday but it will be more modern. Gianni

Should be finishing up my CJ-5 soon, a 69 model with under 30,000 miles that my nephew got from the origional owner. Factory V-6 model, I am swapping a SM-420 4- speed to replace the 3 speed. Goes from a 3:1 first gear to a 7:05 first gear with this swap. 32's for tires, basically stock otherwise.

I hope you enjoy yours Lloyd.:drinks:

Jeepīs are addicting also, same as casting boolits and getting more moulds.
Started with one -90 Cherokee about 15 months ago, and now I have 4 of them, -88,-89,-90,-91 and 2 Comancheīs -88 and -89 all are 4 wheel drive, 6 cyl and automatics. The bad thing is summer is too short to enjoy all my toys now, and I not want to without any of them. Still want to get an early MB or CJ2A to use only in summer.

Lloyd, I have a 2002 Wrangler that I love. I take the top off for the summer. I am surrounded by State/National forest probably like you are, so I drive out the back of my property and hit old logging roads, piplines, etc, etc. Its fun just to be out there exploring. You won't be sorry. Ken

Got a barn on the way to work everyday that has either a flat fender Willy's or it's a CJ2A Jeep. Not sure which. I can't get the nerve to ask what they plan to do with it. It looks like it has sat for awhile.
