I need a top punch for the Lee Bator 22 cal mold. I have the Lyman 646 that is supposed to work, but it deforms the nose. I am currently following the Perfessor's advice on filling the punch with jb weld, but on a small punch this is very tedious. Is the Perfessor still around? Or is someone else making custom top punches? Thanks, Jim

which bator?
they have the old round one and the new rcbs knock off.
if it's the new style I'd get the rcbs punch.

This bator is the old one. Round nose with an apx 25% meplat. I bought it about 3 years ago from Midsouth's special order list.

a flat punch made from a cut off bolt should work then.

I've used a 462 (225462) on my Bator which is an old one.

Using a 1/4 " bolt you will need to put it in a drill press and turn the threads off to let it fit a 22 caliber. Use a good file and you are done in 5 minutes or less including set up time.
