"B. Obama took his wife and children and went to the UCC Trinity church of "GOD Damn America" for twenty years. He liked that church so much he donated over 20, 000 dollars to it in 2006. I cannot decide whether he or O. bin Laden loves America more. I think that church is a black liberation theology madrassa. BvT "
I keep reading this here; then googled "Reverend Wright God Damn America" and read for half an hour or so. Finally found the text of the sermon from which this quote is taken, with context.
First, I don't think that we need political opinion or sniping here, this ain't the place.
Second, unless the whole sermon, or at least a lot of it, is printed; this or any quote is taken OUT OF CONTEXT and isn't understood completely or well by the reader.
Third, constant repitition in furtherance of a political goal, like this, like the Swift Boat Veterans (where are they today?), like the "Willy Horton Extravaganza" seems a uniquely conservative method of talking down to the electorate.
Now the Baron has every right to think or say what he wants, within legal (Fire!!) limits; even to telling what is effectively somewhat less than the truth. Not, however, without criticism.
