44 Mag Load Data For LBT

Well I found a source for LBT bullets.
Now I'm having a problem finding specific load data for them. I can find loads for other 300 gr bullets but not for the LBT.
I'm looking for 300gr and 260gr load data preferably with 2400 powder.
Specifically for the LBT's.
Any links would be appreciated.

Ray,

Load data when it gets to top loads is basically only good in the gun it was developed. That's why they always tell you to start low and work up.

You can use the starting loads for any jacketed bullets listed. For the 260, use 265 Hornady data. You can also go below that level safely with 2400 if you want to.

I use LBT style GC bullets almost exclusively these days in the .44 mag and .444 Marlin. I taper (or Lee factory) crimp near the beginning of the ogive with seating at optimum length for my pistols and rifles, normally 1.6" OAL for the .44 mag. Rather than cast my own, I buy from Beartooth Bullets and Cast Performance Bullets. Their quality is superb.

A suggested heavy load for 300 grainers in the .44 mag is 18.5 gr of WW296 with mag primers for about 1150 fps in a 6" revolver. By seating the bullet out more than 1.6", you can fit more 296 in, but I suggest you not exceed 21.5 gr for about 1250 fps. After that, cases start to stick in the cylinder and primers start to flatten too much.

You can also try 10 grains of SR4756 with std primers for about 1000 fps in the same 6" revolver. Not sure about a load for 2400, its been a long time since I tried it, but if you have a chronograph, you can work up a load that falls velocity-wise somewhere in-between the above two loads. - CW

I am currently running 1370 fps with the 300 gr LBT. I am using 15.5 grains of 2400. It is the most accurate load I've found for my 9.5" Super Redhawk. I hope that helps. BB
