Oh man......I just found this for sale up here in Canada, but it is so darned much money. Made by H. Dumoulin of Belgium....and it has the correct twist rate of 1 in 12. He wants $1500 for it.....If I only had the money......drool !!!!

Mauser 98 action, full Mannlicher stock and all......

Oh well I can dream about this as a hunting rifle.

That's a nice rifle. Not sure it's worth $1500, but I love full length socks and the .358 is a very good caliber for getting good cast bullet performance easily.

Keep an eye on it, I doubt it'll sell quickly and he may become more negotiable.

that'd be more like a 500 dollar rifle around here.
but it would sure be hard to pass up if I come across it.

more like an $800 rifle on the eastern seaboard. dumolin is a name that's better than most people know of here in the States.

Yes the Dumoulin is a very well made highly sought after firearm....you see very few of them ever for sale. I have only ever seen one other here in B.C and it was .338 Win Mag. Smooth as silk and workmanship that you rarely see today.

Compared to the OTHER Mannlicher rifle from Austria-that price makes sense. Buy it. Trade gun(s) in or go layaway. You won't see another in .358 I bet!

Be worth selling a couple of pints of blood to get. I'd have to try and make a trade as these don't appear often.

I'd have to agree on the price being pretty reasonable in today's market. That doesn't help FIND the money for very neat rifles like that, though, of course. Sadly, many of us are in the same boat, and have trouble finding the change for even a std., first line factory rifle these days. A .358 short barreled Mannlicher like that makes a wonderful hunting rifle for just about anything we hunt in North America, and with full loads and J-bullets, can reach out a lot further than most would tend to give it credit for.

If you can swing it, get it, even if you have to sell off something of lesser quality to do it. Really nice guns like that are always bringers of MUCH pleasure and satisfaction, even when they're doing nothing but sitting in the safe for us to look at. Knowing what they ARE is just something that fills a place that lesser guns simply cannot, and what are ya' gonna' do with the money anyway after you're gone? I say stretch if you can, and get that great rifle! Not many made like that one!

DuMoulins are some of the best 98 type actions ever built. Best of the best of the FN Commerical actions...

177209177209Here is a '69 pre warning in 358 Win. In at least 95% NRA that I would take $1100.00 plus shipping it's too nice to carry in the woods for me personally! Any questions pm me. Not trying to high jack this thread though!
