Well Ive ventured into 300 blackout land.
Here is what I have, a 16in SS barrel, with carbine length gas tube.

Ive loaded up M80s no problem (147gr BNBT). The 110s and 125gr fly good. In fact they haul democrat.

I recently decided to get a Lee 230gr R5 mould. Im looking for a subsonic load using:
Lil Gun, H110, or reloader 7. Heck I even have some AA#7.
In the forums they say all this works, cept there is no lead data nor COL.

Dont post load data here, you can PM me, but do post where I might find this data.

Not cast loads, but you get starting point ideas.....sorry but I don't shoot subs so I don't have personal loading data to offer.

The new Hornady manual has a big selection of .300 BO loads. You can sub cast bullets for jacketed on the subsonic loads. They probably won't cycle your action though. Mine has carbine gas and doesn't cycle the Rem factory 220 gr ammo. So I use 150 gr down to 110gr bullets in mine because I hunt. Best, Thomas.

I've used RL-7 with subs to great effect in subs for carbine gas guns, currently playing with reddot for my new encore 7.5" threaded barrel for them.

I have had luck with IMR4198 and the Lee subsonic 230 carbine length and it does cycle the action.
I read somewhere that it would provide the right amount of gas to the carbine length tube..

The new Lyman 50th ed. has a section on 300 BO loads. I've also been cruising the net looking for data and have found 8 full pages of data from sources like Hornady, Hogden and Nosler. The info is out there, but you gotta search for it.

Load data is definitely becoming more available. The Lyman reloading manual for the AR has quite a lot of good info also. With some interesting reads from J.D. Jones the inventor of the original 300 Whisper. My first barrel was 16" and a carbine length gas tube. I also purchased an 8" pistol barrel so maybe at some point I can play around with a suppressor and sub loads.

I gave up on the Lee 230s. They were about a 5 moa round and I never found a load that cycled well in a 16" carbine tubed AR. They're also a pain to cast well, IMO. If you don't run surpressed, I'd stick with supersonic rounds. Unless you are just bored and like to experiment. Either way, good luck!

This is not my data - use it at your own discretion. It is data that I collected from various threads when I was trying to figure out what load to go with. Good luck.

THe Lee boolit drops way undersized. THe only remedy is pc'ing them. If you try them as cast you will not be happy. I PC mine and size to .3085, (just happens to be what my sizer does them) and i have good accuracy and they run great in my SBR. My load is 9.2 grains of WC820 with the 230 grain pc'ed Lee.

The big boat-tailed Lee boolit shoots OK for me over a charge of RL 7 that just cycles my 16" carbine. H110 will work for this, too. In general, however, I prefer the TL312-160 Ed Harris design.
