I'm a new poster, but have been reading Cast Boolits for a while. I've been casting boolits since 1975.

I like the 32 S&W Long, since it has about the recoil of a 22 and I can reload it cheaper than buying 22's with my cast boolits.

I recently acquired a 2000 boolit box of Remington 22801 swaged boolits. The label says " 32 Caliber, 82 LD Dia .302" I can't find anything relating to that catalog number.

They are hollow base round nose boolits, and do actually measure out at .302"

My question is: Since these are really soft lead, will the HB skirt expand on firing to fill the grooves? (The theory behind the Minie ball.) . . . or will they just rattle down the bore? Most of the 32's I shoot are .302" land diameter, with .312 - .314 groove diameter.

Anyone know anything about these?

they might shoot okay but I have no idea how your gonna get the case to hold onto them.

The bullets you have are for .32 Short Colt and Long Colt.

FOr .32 S&W Long and .32 Colt New Police you want bullets .312-.315"

I agree that they are probably for the .32 Short or Long Colt. If so, you will be better off selling them and buying what you want or trading them. I shoot both and have a large number of cast (and a few jacketed) bullets for the .32 S&W Long. Many of them are commercially made. If you are interested in trading, I can take and inventory and PM you with what I have. I would trade MORE flat base for hollow-base. Casting hollow-base takes a LOT longer than plain base.

Thanks to everyone for the great information.

That 82 gr. bullet is what Remington last loaded in 32 Long Colt ammunition. Last production run was around 1990. I pulled a factory round down a few years ago out of curiosity and thats the bullet they used. I shoot quite a bit of 32 Long & Short Colt from 2 Colts that date earlier than 1910. Those bullets would command a premium over on colt forum.com

They will also command a premium here to anyone with a Marlin 1892 32. Just list them in here would be my advice. You will make a Marlin 1892 shooter very happy with those.

I'd like to see them posted for sale, I'm using 95 Gr. to hand load 32 Colt. I'd like to use the lighter bullet.
Maybe break them up into 500 piece lots. I'd go for 500 unless they are horribly over priced.

Thanks for the offers, guys, but Harry O was first with an offer for a trade. He had just what I wanted. I may have made a bit more selling them, but his offer included a variety of boolits that included some I can use in my T/C G2 32 H&R Mag barrel for a little get-to-know-you session I plan to have with some pesky groundhogs. One got into my fenced-in hydroponic garden and ate all the tops off my zucchini before I found the tiny little hole I left in the chicken wire when I made the enclosure. Now if I could only find a recipe for groundhog that didn't taste like a sewer swab.
