Went to the local store to pick up some unique, but they didnt have any. They did have Winchester 231 so i picked up a pound of it. Neither my Hornady or Lyman manual has load data for a 124gr lead bullet using W231. They are water dropped and powder coated. Anyone have some info for me? Thanks guys!

Reloadammo.com (one of the only online sites I trust) has 9mm 231 data for cast and jacketed.

3.7 grains with a 120 Truncated cone Lee conventional was a standard load for me. I have since swapped to Power Pistol for the 9, merely to save the 231 for my 38 special.

Hodgdon, who is the distributor/manufacturer for Winchester powder, has a data site for this and all the other powders they distribute.
This link will get you there.

The Lyman 4th Ed. Cast Boolit HB lists the RCBS #9mm-124-CN with 231 START 3.9 gr. @1094 fps (25,700 CUP)-- MAX 4.3 gr. @1198 fps (30,800 CUP).

I like to keep life simple - WW231 for standard pistol, WW296 for magnums (which reminds me - I need an 8 lb'er), WW748 for 223 and 308.
I use 4.0 gr WW231 with all my 9mm loads. You can go less but for me, it doesn't cycle the machine guns reliably. I wanted to find the best all around load that will work in all the guns and I think I have.
I cast Lyman 356402, RCBS 124gr TC bullets but mostly H&G 124gr #331 rn depending on my mood.
The alloy is 5 lbs ww to 1 lb linotype.
Magma lube.
Sized 356 in a Star Sizer. I don't know how powder coated bullets would do - never used them.
No leading whatsoever.
They cycle the machine guns reliably and the 9mm S&W 3914 seems happy.
I even go up to 4.4 for some +P loads in the Uzi. The Uzi is a tank so it doesn't hurt. Full auto magazine dumps don't lead the barrel at all.
I also use Berry's 147 plated with 3.8 WW 231 gr for subsonic loads through the suppressor. That is the only bullet I buy for pistol calibers. The rest are all cast. No lead through the can!
Works for me.
I use 231 as my standard pistol caliber powder in all the machine guns and pistols/revolvers. 380, 38, 357, 44, 45acp. I burn up LOTS of it. Kinda dirty and smokey but it works fine for me.
231 tends to smoke less as you load hotter by the way.
Your mileage may vary.

Yep, look in a Hodgdon manual (the magazine type, around $9.00). There is data for lead LCN bullets of 125 gr. and W231 (and 14 different powders). I always use lead bullet data for my PCed bullets, at least for starting loads...
