Getting my son out to shoot is tough. He is a LPN and a local EMT so he is always on call. Well I put new sights on his MK85 this spring and I got it kind of sighted in out to 250 yards.
His load is our old Paper Patched Lee 500 S&W bullet with an over powder wad and 80 grains of pyrodex P.
I needed him to shoot it to verify it so I could paint the marks. Everything went well from 100 out to 250. This picture is of him getting ready to shoot.
The target is at the base of the far hill.

The hit is the dark circle just to the right of center.

You did get the freezer paper didn't you? Just for the heck of it, I have shot off of the tailgate before with scoped weapons and the wind is always wiggling the truck in the crosshairs. Does shooting with the peeps hide that wiggle or enough to not fret about with the gongs. good shootin

Freezer paper??
I have shot off this tail gate for years and have never had any trouble with BP or CF. I don't like to shoot when the wind is up too much. I try to get it done before about 9 am that way it is much more calm.

ron i consider my self a judge of good lakes being from minn many years ago, however that was before i saw the northwest idaho lakes. oh my gosh,i have never ever anywhere seen anything as beautiful as those lakes up their. it just cant get better than they are. makes me want to pack up and move their. people are easy to talk to also. one native idaho man told me the best meat to eat in the world is mountain lion. and the man next to him agreed. you idaho people are keeping your state a secret, not to me anymore. what a wonderful place.
