Fred was a hero when I was a child. He still is and his commandments are as valid today as when I was in my first childhood!

I read a good biography on him when I was in Iraq in 2004. Fascinating man for many reasons and a great American as well. I highly recommend to anyone to read about him whether they are a hunter or now.

My first bow was a Bear, late 1950's. His influence was strong in those days, if he had something to say...everybody listened, heck...he is one of the early 'Been there Done that' types.

I always enjoyed the film that showed Fred shooting ducks with his bow.Great sportsman and archery man.

In the late 50's a friend and I went to a national archery tournament held near my home town, one of the people that we got to meet was Fred Bear. What a quite, unassuming, great man.
