Long ago they announced tang sights for their lever guns.

What happened to them?

The price was certainly great for the buyer.

For some unknown reason they quit making them. I have one on my 24"rossi octagon and am very happy with it. I move it up and down for various ranges out to 200 yds and settings are positive and repeatable. I don't remember the part number but it's the one that is different from the other 3 that gives the most vertical adjustment. You want the one for their Model 63, PN5-6373.(found it)

Call them

And keep a couple extra in your parts box

They're gone, don't bother. Hard to imagine why, on the www.rossi-rifleman.com site a ton of members had orders in for them and they never filled them.

They were a good lower cost alternative to the Marbles version. Marbles is a good substitute. The 24" Rossi's were drilled for them, the other versions need a hole drilled and tapped on the tang.

I was going to call in an order way back when they announced them. Did several days later and was told the typical hold time was going to be 1:20. That is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
So I sent in an order for 3 with payment.
NEVER heard from them.

Price was too good to be true and come to find out they were made out of unobtainium.

Rossi/taurus does not seem to care one bit as to what customers want or need. So what if there is large demand for a tang sight, no reason to make any. And I would wonder if its not better to go with the marbles knowing how rossi cuts corners.

I ordered 2 of them over the phone over 18 months ago.

Still waiting.......

I'd look at this one, good price. I'd be all over it if I had funding for it currently.

Nice! I have a new 24" Rossi, and want one of those bad! That one will be gone before I can buy it, I'll just have to get mine from Midway.

Had one on my Rossi R92 in 44 Magnum. The lock was not strong enough. It dropped when fired. Would be OK for a 22lr.

I could see no way to make the lock stronger. Parts too small. On a centerfire, it would probably wear out quickly, too.

Was that the Rossi sight or the Marbles?

It was the Rossi marked for the 22lr pump guns, M62 IIRC. Looks good but the locking system is a joke.

I have had a Lyman #2 on my mid '90's 24" mod 92 for the entire time I've owned the gun been long enough ago that I don't remember where I bought it. Works great- no issues ever. Shoot Straight, T-Bird
